Prospective Off Season Training Program

GDI Prairies is pleased to introduce you to the most productive and cost efficient off season program for goaltenders throughout the area. This program includes both professional off-ice and on ice instruction to maximize your performance and minimize your weakness.

Off-Ice: Until recent years, proper conditioning for goaltenders in Canada has been virtually non-existent. Unfortunately, most goaltenders have never received proper training or understand all of the necessary components that are involved in a high performance goaltending training program. The off-ice program we offer provides specific training to fully develop the goaltender. The program shows how and why goaltenders can improve their on ice performance tremendously with off-ice training.

Great goaltending requires excellent agility, stamina, power, speed, strength, balance, flexibility, hand/eye coordination and most of all outstanding response time. The program focuses on 9 different components:

  • Strength Training
  • Flexibility/stretching
  • Aerobic Training
  • Power Training
  • Speed Training
  • Anaerobic Training
  • Hand/Eye Training
  • Agility Training
  • Response time

The goal of our Program is to teach the goaltenders various exercises and drills needed to progress in all 9 components and in conjunction with group activities that will maximize their on ice performance.
