The Winnipeg Thrashers are the cream of the provincial AAA midget crop for the third time in the last six years.
The Thrashers thumped the Southwest Cougars 5-1 on Thursday night in Souris, winning the best-of-five final 3-1.
Longtime GDI goaltenders Teagan Sacher and Alex Henry will now defend the net representing the province of Manitoba at the Telus Cup west regiona tournament in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan from March 31 to April 3.
