Bantam 2 Goalies Compete in Low Scoring Final
The Bantam 2 Winnipeg Hawks and Warriors goaltenders have turned aside their fair share of rubber during the city finals.
With four games played, both goaltenders have shut the door allowing only 13 goals against. With the Hawks victories in the first two games with 3-2 wins, the next two games were consecutive shutouts. The Warriors Tyler Brown recorded his third shutout of the playoffs with a 2-0 victory in game 3. The fourth game of the series The Hawks goaltender Troy Martyniuk shut the door with a 1-0 win as he fought off numerous attempts through traffic.
Currently defending opposite end of the ice, Brown and Martyniuk will be paired up on the Wpg AAA Team White at the 2011 Directors Cup from the 25-27th of March (GDI Goalies Selected). Both goaltenders have been dedicated to their position and have attended GDI Prairies Summer Camps and 1v1 Sessions over the past two years. With strong technical skills and mental make-ups in net, both goalies display control within their position and also competitive mindsets that have taken them both to the top this year.
As the Hawks look to close out the series, game 5 of the best of 7 series takes place this Thursday . For more info and full results on the 2011 Bantam 2 Playoffs Click Here.
