Wiess & Henry Playing Big for Canadians

The battle between the St. James Canadians and the River East Marauders has been a spirited affair that has been taken into "extra innings" and has changed normality of the preliminary (best of three) round of the AA Minor Bantam playoffs.

GDI Prairies goaltenders Tyler Wiess and Christian Henry have found a way to hold the Canadians in it. Tyler is one of the most competitive goaltenders at his age, conquers opponents with his quick trigger response time, while his partner Christian is a large agile goaltender that supplies strong puck control to his game. With both teams evenly placed within the season standings with the Marauders in 4th and the Canadians in 5th, the series has seen each game being tightly matched.

Game one was owned by the Marauders with a 3-2 win. Two nights later, the game ended in a 2-2 decision after a scoreless overtime. Even with the Canadians holding a powerplay late in overtime the game ended without a final decision. Wiess held his own in the backend, shutting down many odd man rushes by the offensive minded River East players.

With the series still in the Marauders favor as they led 1-0 heading to the third game, the next night they weren't able to cap it off. The Canadians again found a way to battle back and complete a comeback with a 3-2 overtime victory. Henry was in net for game three to help backstop the Canadians for their first win. Coming up, the deciding game four will take place March 2nd. The winner of the series looks to meet the first place powerhouse, Fort Garry Twins.
