Prospects Hockey Goaltender of the Year: Jake Allen


Recently announced at the 2010 CHL Awards was the Prospects Hockey Goaltender of the Year. Jake Allen of the Drummondville Voltigeurs took the award home with his strong performance throughout the year standing above the rest.

Allen, at the age of 19, also captured the Jacques-Plante trophy with the best goals against average in the QMJHL with a mark of 2.20. He also posted a save percentage of 9.22 and produced a 29-14 record in 45 games with the Valtigeurs and Montreal Juniors this season.

Allen also backstopped the Canadian National Juinor Team to a silver medal at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Campionship.

Also considered for the award was Martin Jones of the Calgary Hitmen, and Chris Carrozzi of the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors.
